04087030 MENOMONEE RIVER AT MENOMONEE FALLS, WI

LOCATION - Lat 43°10'22", long 88°06'14" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in SE 1/4 NE 1/4 sec.10, T.8 N., R.20 E., Waukesha County, WI, Hydrologic Unit 04040003, on right bank, 150 ft upstream from Pilgrim Road (County Trunk Highway YY) bridge in Menomonee Falls, at mile 21.1.

DRAINAGE AREA - 34.7 mi².

SURFACE-WATER RECORDS

PERIOD OF RECORD - November 1974 to September 1977, July 1979 to current year.

GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 755.58 ft above NAVD of 1988. The NAVD of 1988 datum of gage was determined by a Real-Time Network survey using the statewide Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) reference station network, called the Wisconsin Continuously Operating Reference Stations (WISCORS) Network. The survey was done on 12/7/2023 by USGS personnel using a Topcon Hyper VR rover in combination with the FC5000 field tablet. Reference Frame NAD_83 (2011) (EPOCH:2010.000), GEOID18. GWSI Method Code: GNSS4. GWSI Altitude Accuracy: 0.04 ft. Prior to Aug. 20, 1996, water-stage recorder at present site at datum 2.01 ft lower.

REMARKS - Records are considered good except for estimated discharges which are poor and other periods as noted. For records status prior to October 1, 2013, see remarks printed in annual water-data reports. Occasional regulation caused by dam in Menomonee Falls, about 1.0 mi upstream. Gage-height telemeter at station.

WATER TEMPERATURE: November 2008 to November 2015. DISSOLVED OXYGEN: November 2008 to November 2015. SPECIFIC CONDUCTANCE: November 2008 to November 2015. TURBIDITY: November 2008 to November 2015.

INSTRUMENTATION - Stage activated water-quality sampler. Continuous water quality monitor with water temperature, dissolved oxygen, specific conductivity, and turbidity sensors: November 2008 to current year.

REMARKS - Chemical analyses are done by the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District.
