LOCATION - Lat 43°41'49.51", long 106°18'22.3" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in SW 1/4 SW 1/4 NW 1/4 sec.13, T.43 N., R.79 W., Johnson County, WY, Hydrologic Unit 10090202, on left bank 0.4 mi upstream from bridge on State Highway 192, 0.6 mi west of Sussex, and 3.2 mi downstream from Salt Creek.
DRAINAGE AREA - 3,090 mi².

SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - April 1938 to June 1940, February 1950 to September 1957, October 1977 to September 1984, October 1985 to September 1998, November 2002 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Elevation of gage is 4,372ft above NGVD of 1929, from topographic map. Prior to June 30, 1940, nonrecording gage about 500 ft downstream from old State Highway 192 at different datum. February 8, 1950 to September 30, 1957, water-stage recorder about 600 ft downstream from State Highway 192 at different datum. October 1977 to April 8, 1983, water-stage recorder 10 ft downstream from State Highway 192 at different datum. April 9, 1983 to October 21, 1987, at site 300 ft upstream from station at same datum. February 28, 2016 gage datum was raised 2.0 ft. U.S. Geological Survey data collection platform with satellite telemetry at station.

11-16-2016 to 10-10-2017: records are good, except estimated records are poor.

10-08-2015 to 11-15-2016: records are good, except estimated record and record May 21 to June 13 are poor.
10-01-2015 to 10-07-2015: records are good, except estimated records are poor.

Numerous small reservoirs and diversions for irrigation upstream from station.

EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Flood of September 30, 1923, gage height, about 14.7 ft at site about 600 ft downstream from State Highway 192, from information by local resident.

July 19-21, Aug. 21 to Sept. 13,  and Nov. 11-16, are fair; and records from 
Mar. 24-30 and May 23 to June 3,  are poor.  

10-01-2013 to 11-24-2014: records are excellent, except records from Oct. 29 to Nov. 7, Apr. 4, 12-17, 
Apr. 27 to May 8, May 11-22, June 26, July 26 to Aug. 5, Aug. 23, 29-31, and Sept. 6-9, 17-19 are 
good; records from Apr 5, 18-22, May 23 to June 17, July 12, Aug. 15, and Sept. 20-27 are fair; and 
records from Oct. 1-25, Apr. 6, 7, 23, 24, June 27, 28, July 13-21, Aug. 16-19, 24, 25, and Sept. 28, 
29 are poor.

11-25-2014 to 11-05-2015: records are excellent.
10-01-2013 to 11-24-2014: records are excellent, except records from Oct. 4-7, 2015 are good.
