LOCATION - Lat 44°34'14", long 104°00'19" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NW 1/4 SE 1/4 NW 1/4 sec.16, T.7 N., R.1 E., Lawrence County, SD, Hydrologic Unit 10120203, on left bank 1,500 ft upstream from confluence with Redwater River, 0.8 mi north of McNenny Fish Hatchery, and approximately 4.4 mi east of Beulah.
DRAINAGE AREA - 40.7 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WDR SD-97-1: 1996.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Apr. 1992 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 3,349.88 ft above NAVD of 1988.
REMARKS - For Oct. 1, 2013 to Sept 30, 2017, records good except those for estimated daily discharges, which are poor. Satellite data-collection platform at station. Water temperature and specific conductance measured with each discharge measurement.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 940 ft³/s, from rating curve extended above 390 ft³/s, on basis of slope-area measurement of peak flow, June 1, 2013, gage height, 10.57 ft, from floodmarks.
