SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - May 2003 to September 2004 (seasonal records only), April 2005 to September 2015 (annual seasonal-maximum only), April 2016 to September 2021 (seasonal records only) (discontinued).
GAGE - Water-stage recorder with satellite telemetry and concrete weir. Elevation of gage is 7,520 ft above NGVD of 1929, from topographic map. Prior to Aug. 18, 2016, gage located 700 ft upstream from present site, at present datum. Natural flow of stream was affected by a 24-inch pipe diversion through dam, which bypassed the spillway and could carry at least 16 ft³/s flow. Peak discharge was likely higher due to additional bypass-pipe diversion. As of Aug. 18, 2016, computed flows include spillway and diversion flows.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum flood known, 2,020 ft³/s, May 7, 1973, on basis of slope-area measurement of peak flow made at location about 1.0 mi downstream from present site, caused by failure of two upstream dams.
