LOCATION - Lat 40°02'32", long 101°43'41" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in SW 1/4 NE 1/4 sec.21, T.1 N., R.39 W., Dundy County, NE, Hydrologic Unit 10250002, on right bank at west edge of Parks, at the county road bridge and 0.5 mi upstream from mouth.
DRAINAGE AREA - 23.6 mi² of which 3.60 mi² probably is noncontributing.
REVISIONS HISTORY - WSP 1630: 1951(M). WDR NE-94-1: Drainage area.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1940 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder with satellite telemetry. Datum of gage is 3,094.72 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (NAVD88). Datum of gage up to August 17, 2017 was 3,093.35 ft National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929 (NGVD29).
REMARKS - Accuracy of records for water years prior to 2014 are noted in the individual Annual Data Reports for those water years. For water years 2014 onward, records fair except for estimated daily discharges, which are poor, unless otherwise noted. One diversion about 2 mi above station for irrigation of 215 acres; flow regulated at times by Rock Creek Lake located just below State fish hatchery, 7 mi upstream. Beginning February 22, 2013, additional flows (up to 30 ft³/s) from pumped groundwater sources upstream of Rock Creek Lake, from the Upper Republican Natural Resources District's Rock Creek Augmentation Project.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 493 ft³/s, July 5, 1965, from rating curve extended above 40 ft³/s on basis of slope conveyance, gage height, 6.00 ft.
