LOCATION - Lat 37°55'47.7", long 91°58'38.4" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in NE 1/4 NE 1/4 SE 1/4 sec.13, T.37 N., R.10 W., Phelps County, MO, Hydrologic Unit 10290203, on left bank at Jerome, 0.5 mi downstream from Little Piney Creek, and at mile 107.
DRAINAGE AREA - 2,840 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WSP 172: 1904. WSP 566: Drainage area. WSP 1340: 1903-04, 1928(M).
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Apr 1903 to Jul 1906, Jan 1923 to current year. Apr 1903 to Jul 1906 published as "at Arlington". Oct to Dec 1922 monthly discharge only, published in WSP 1310. Gage-height records collected intermittently in the vicinity 1885-1926 and at same site since 1938 are contained in reports of the National Weather Service.
GAGE -
Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 657.82 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988. Prior to Jul 26, 1904, nonrecording gage at site 0.8 mi downstream at different datum; Jul 26, 1904, to Jul 21, 1906, nonrecording gage at site 0.5 mi upstream from present site at datum about 0.85 ft higher than present gage; Jan 3, 1923, to Sep 29, 1928, nonrecording gage at site 400 ft downstream from present site at datum 0.14 ft lower than present datum; Sep 30, 1928, to Jan 17, 1939, nonrecording gage at present site and datum.
REMARKS - Accuracy of records is discussed in the annual Station Analysis archived at the USGS MO Water Science Center.  
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Flood of Jan 6, 1897, reached a stage of about 29.0 ft, discharge, 120,000 ft³/s. A stage of 28.6 ft was reached on Aug 20 and 22, 1915, discharge, 114,000 ft³/s.
