LOCATION - Lat 38°54'27.19", long 104°54'13.42" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in SW 1/4 NW 1/4 sec.21, T.13 S., R.67 W., El Paso County, CO, Hydrologic Unit 11020003, in Pike National Forest on right bank, 1.4 mi northwest of Queens Canyon mouth at Glen Eyrie, 4.1 mi downstream of Palmer Reservoir, and 6.8 mi northwest of courthouse in Colorado Springs.
DRAINAGE AREA - 7.15 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - March 2013 to current year (seasonal records only).
GAGE - Water-stage recorder with satellite telemetry. Elevation of gage is 7,216 ft above NAVD of 1988, from topographic map.
REMARKS - Water year 2014; records poor. Water year 2015; records poor. Water year 2016; no estimated daily discharges. Records fair. Water year 2017; records fair except for estimated daily discharges, which are poor. Natural flow of stream may be affected by Palmer Reservoir, 4.1 mi upstream, and diversions are made below this gage.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 338 ft³/s, May 9, 2015, from rating curve extended above 83.6 ft³/s on basis of slope-conveyance and step-backwater analysis, gage height, 2.97 ft.
