LOCATION - Lat 36°14'55", long 95°52'01" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NW 1/4 NW 1/4 sec.06, T.20 N., R.14 E., Tulsa County, OK, Hydrologic Unit 11070107, at bridge on Mingo Road 1.4 mi upstream from Mingo Creek, 1.5 mi downstream from Coal Creek, 2 mi southwest of Owasso, and at mile 14.1.
DRAINAGE AREA - 1,017 mi². From automated delineation using 10-meter National Elevation Dataset digital elevation model data dated 10/01/2006 and Watershed Boundary Dataset dated 10/01/2006, using Albers Equal-Area Projection, North American Datum 1983.
REVISIONS HISTORY - WRD OK-94-1; 1993 (M). WDR 2012: Drainage area.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1935 to March 1939, April 1987 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 560.64 feet above NAVD 88. Current datum was determined by a GNSS Level III RTN survey Check in/Check out completed on NGS PID GG0969 with +.04/-.03 difference. Benchmark check in made on NGS PID DN4405 (+.09 difference) and DN4406 (-.09 difference) and tied to RM-6. Prior to 10/01/2021, datum in use was 560.17 feet above NGVD 1929. Prior to Oct. 1, 1939, gage at same site and datum 1.14 ft lower. Flow slightly regulated since 1958 by Bluestem Lake (capacity 17,000 acre-ft) and since March 1977 by Birch Lake (capacity 19,200 acre-ft). Flow regulated since August 20, 1989 by Skiatook Lake (capacity 322,300 acre-ft) when conservation pool was first reached.
