LOCATION - Lat 38°11'47.51", long 96°49'27.63" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in sec.25, T.21 S., R.5 E., Chase County, KS, Hydrologic Unit 11070202, on right bank at upstream side of county highway bridge, 4.0 mi south of Cedar Point, and at mile 9.4.
DRAINAGE AREA - 110 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WSP 1211: 1944(M). WSP 1341: 1940-41, 1942(M), 1943, 1945(M).
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1938 to current year. Monthly discharge only for some periods, published in WSP 1311.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 1,263.31 ft. above msl. (NAVD88) (Static survey,OPUS-RS) The previous datum was 1,262.50 ft. above NGVD of 1929 (levels by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers). Prior to Sept. 28, 1944, nonrecording gage at present site and datum.
REMARKS - Satellite telemeter at station.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Flood in July 1929 reached a stage of 24.63 ft from floodmarks on house on left bank where flood in 1951 reached a stage of 25.7 ft.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Flood of May 24, 2019 reached a recorded stage of 22.27 ft. with a computed discharge of 29,500 cfs.
