LOCATION - Lat 32°01'07", long 90°52'42" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in NE 1/4 sec.16, T.12 N., R.3 E., Claiborne County, MS, Hydrologic Unit 08060203, Washington Meridian, near right bank at downstream side of bridge on county highway, 1.4 mi upstream from South Fork Bayou Pierre, and 1.7 mi southeast of Willows.
DRAINAGE AREA - 654 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Operated as continuous-record gaging station water years 1959-61 (annual maximums), June 1961 to 2009; flood-hydrograph partial-record station 2010 to 2015, continuous discharger station 2016 to current year.
GAGE - Flood-hydrograph partial-record station. Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 82.32 ft above NGVD of 1929. Sept. 9, 1958, to May 31, 1961, crest-stage gage at same site and datum.
REMARKS - Records good, except for periods of estimated data which are considered poor. Satellite telemeter at station.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD -

Maximum instantaneous discharge = 88,000 cfs on April 7, 1983.

Maximum instantaneous gage height = 29.36 feet on April 4, 1983.
