  • Water-Year Summary reports summarize a year of hydrologic data in a printer-friendly format.
  • For water years 2014 onward, choose a water year and parameter and an on-demand Water-Year Summary report will be generated.
  • For water years 2006 through 2013, choose a water year and an Annual Water Data Report will be provided.
  • For water years 2005 and earlier, Annual Water Data Reports may be available in digital format.
  • Not all sites have reports available for every water year.

USGS Water-Year Summary 2023
08065350 Trinity River near Crockett, TX
LOCATION - Lat 31°20'18", long 95°39'22" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Houston County, TX, Hydrologic Unit 12030201, on left bank at an abandoned bridge abutment near left end of an abandoned lock and dam, 1,000 ft upstream from State Highway 7, 6.9 mi downstream from Upper Keechi Creek, 11.9 mi west of Crockett, and at mile 265.4.
DRAINAGE AREA - 13,911 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Jan. 1964 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 141.15 ft above NGVD of 1929, 140.41 ft above NAVD of 1988. Prior to Oct. 13, 1983, water-stage recorder at site 1,000 ft downstream at datum 4.56 ft lower. Satellite telemeter at station.
REMARKS - Since installation of gage at least 10% of contributing drainage area has been regulated. There are many diversions above station for irrigation, municipal, and industrial uses. Some records listed in the "Period of Record" for surface water and water quality may not be available electronically.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum stage since 1900, 56.1 ft, Apr. 30 or May 1, 1942, at former site and datum, from information by Texas Department of Transportation.
WATER-QUALITY RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - CHEMICAL DATA: Feb. 1964 to Sep. 2017. BIOCHEMICAL DATA: Feb. 1964 to Sep. 2017. BIOLOGICAL DATA: Oct. 1974 to Sept. 1977, Dec. 1992 to Aug. 1994. PESTICIDE DATA: Nov. 1971 to July 1981, Dec. 1992, Feb. 1994 and May 1994. RADIOCHEMICAL DATA: Feb. 1981 and Dec. 1992. SEDIMENT DATA: Nov. 1972 to Sept. 1977.
PERIOD OF DAILY RECORD -

SPECIFIC CONDUCTANCE: Feb. 1964 to current year.

pH: Mar. 1975 to current year.

WATER TEMPERATURE: Feb. 1964 to Sept. 1971, Mar. 1975 to current year.

DISSOLVED OXYGEN: Mar. 1975 to current year.

TURBIDITY: Oct. 2017 to current year.

SUSPENDED-SEDIMENT DISCHARGE: July 1972 to Sept. 1977.

INSTRUMENTATION - Water-quality monitor since Mar. 1975.
REMARKS - Some records listed in the "Period of Record" for surface water and water quality may not be available electronically. Interruptions or periods of missing record may be due to instrument failure, no flow conditions or data corrections exceeding allowable criteria, which were deleted. Other than no flow conditions, minimum and maximum extremes may have occurred during period of missing record. Mean monthly and annual concentrations and loads for selected chemical constituents have been computed for previous years using the daily (or continuous) records of specific conductance and a regression relation between each chemical constituent and specific conductance. The computation of the selected constituent loads might include estimated discharge or specific conductance data. Regression equations developed for this station may be obtained from the U.S. Geological Survey Texas Water Science Center upon request.
