LOCATION - Lat 30°13'57", long 95°10'05" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Montgomery County, TX, Hydrologic Unit 12040103, on left bank at downstream side of bridge on Farm Road 2090, about 1500 ft west of depot at Splendora, 2.5 mi upstream from Texas and New Orleans Railroad Co. bridge, 2.5 mi upstream from bridge on U.S. Highway 59, and 9.7 mi upstream from Caney Creek.
DRAINAGE AREA - 117 mi².

GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 81.61 ft above NGVD of 1929. Prior to Oct. 1, 1965, at datum 5.00 ft higher. Satellite telemeter at station.
REMARKS - No known regulation or diversions. Gage height associated with historical peak discharge is referenced to datum then in use. Some records listed in the "Period of Record" for surface water and water quality may not be available electronically.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum stage since at least 1895, occurred Oct. 8, 1949. Flood in Nov. 1940 reached a stage of 22.3 ft, discharge 24,700 ft³/s, from information by local resident. Flood of June 12, 1986 reached a stage of 20.92 ft, discharge 15,700 ft³/s.
