LOCATION - Lat 32°38'54", long 99°00'15" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Stephens County, TX, Hydrologic Unit 12060105, on left bank 600 ft downstream from Battle Creek, 1.6 mi upstream from bridge on Farm Road 576, 9.8 mi southwest of Breckenridge, and about 14.6 mi upstream from Hubbard Creek Dam.

QW gage is in a separate location 1.6 mi downstream from surface water gage, at bridge on Farm Road 576, 5.7 mi south and 6.1 mi west of Breckenridge, and about 13.6 mi upstream from Hubbard Creek Dam. Lat/Long: 32° 39' 52.6" N, 099° 00' 02.1" W.

DRAINAGE AREA - 280 mi².  
REVISIONS HISTORY - WDR TX-76-2: Drainage area at former site.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Feb. 1962 to current year. Prior to Oct. 1975, published as "near Breckenridge".
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. On December 10, 2019 datum of the gage was lowered and converted to 1180.93 ft. above NAVD88. Prior to this date datum of the gage was 1185.83 ft. above NGVD29. Prior to Oct. 1, 1975, at site 1.6 mi downstream at datum 7.41 ft. lower. Satellite telemeter at station.
COOPERATION - West Central Texas Municipal Water District and U. S. Geological Survey (USGS).
REMARKS - Some regulation by Lake Cisco, capacity, 25,600 acre-ft. The City of Cisco, TX diverts water from Lake Cisco for municipal use. No flow at times most years. Some records listed in the period of record may not be available electronically.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - According to information from Texas Department of Transportation, the floods of May 16, 1949, July 20, 1953, and Apr. 29, 1957, each reached a stage of 24.6 ft.
