LOCATION - Lat 30°31'02", long 99°48'21" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Kimble County, TX, Hydrologic Unit 12090202, on left bank 50 ft south of Ranch Road 1674, 600 ft west of county road KC 171, 1.7 mi northwest of Junction, and 3.7 mi upstream from confluence with South Llano River.
DRAINAGE AREA - 914 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - Gage: June 13, 2001 to Feb. 16, 2023 Datum of the gage was erroneously published as 1,709.92 ft. above NGVD of 1929; the correct datum of the gage was 1689.92 ft. above NGVD29, WSP 568: 1920, 1922. WSP 1512: 1915, 1918-19, 1923(M), 1924-26, 1928, 1930(M), 1931-33, 1934(M), 1935. WDR TX-76-3: 1942(M), 1948(M), 1957(M), 1958(P), 1959(M), 1961(M), 1964(M), 1970-71(M), 1974(P).

GAGE -

Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Satellite telemeter at station. Datum of gage is 1,689.93 ft. above NAVD88 as derived from a GNSS survey. From June 13, 2001 to Feb. 16, 2023 Datum of the gage was erroneously listed as 1,709.92 ft. above NGVD of 1929; the correct datum of the gage was 1689.92 ft. above NGVD29.

Prior to Aug. 1925, nonrecording gage at site 1,450 ft. upstream at datum 10 ft. higher (1,699.92 ft. above NGVD29). Aug. 1925 to Sept. 1936, water-stage recorder 1,450 ft. upstream at same NGVD29 datum. Sept. 1936 to June 1940, nonrecording gages at various sites at same NGVD29 datum. June 1940 to Sept. 1977, water-stage recorder at site 2,000 ft. upstream at same NGVD29 datum.

COOPERATION - Groundwater and Streamflow Information Program (GWSIP)
REMARKS - No known regulation. Low flow affected by diversions from irrigation. No flow at times most years.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum stage since at least 1875, that of Sept. 16, 1936; maximum stage during period 1875 to Sept. 15, 1936, 27 ft in 1889, at former site, from information by local resident.
