LOCATION - Lat 37°21'17.65", long 106°32'39.0" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in SW 1/4 NW 1/4 sec.22, T.36 N., R.4 E., Conejos County, CO, Hydrologic Unit 13010005, Rio Grande National Forest, on left bank 1,100 ft downstream from valvehouse for Platoro Reservoir and 0.7 mi northwest of Platoro.

DRAINAGE AREA - 40 mi². approximately.

SURFACE-WATER RECORDS

PERIOD OF RECORD - May 1952 to current year.

GAGE - Water-stage recorder with satellite telemetry and concrete control. Datum of gage is 9,866.60 ft above NGVD of 1929, (levels by U.S. Bureau of Reclamation).

COOPERATION - Records collected and computed by Colorado Division of Water Resources and reviewed by Geological Survey.

REMARKS - Water year 2014; records good except for estimated daily discharges, which are poor. Water year 2015; records good except for estimated daily discharges, which are fair. Water year 2016; no estimated daily discharges. Records good. Water year 2017; no estimated daily discharges. Records good except for the period Nov. 10 to Apr. 13, which is fair. Water year 2018; records fair except for the period Nov. 9 to Apr. 5, and estimated daily discharges, which are poor. Water year 2019; records fair except for the periods Nov. 6 to Apr. 12, Aug. 15, and estimated daily discharges, which are poor. Water year 2020; records fair except for the period Nov. 19 to Apr. 15, and estimated daily discharges, which are poor. Water year 2021; records fair except for the period Nov. 5 to Apr. 6, and estimated daily discharges, which are poor. Water year 2022; records fair except for the period Jan. 15 to Apr. 13, and estimated daily discharges, which are poor. Water year 2023; records good except for the period Oct. 18 to Apr. 16, which is fair, and estimated daily discharges, which are poor. Flow completely regulated by Platoro Reservoir (station 08244500) 0.2 mi upstream since Nov. 7, 1951.

EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Flood of Oct. 5, 1911, is the greatest since at least 1854, from information obtained from local residents in 1959.
