LOCATION - Lat 32°50'12.38", long 105°04'09.92" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Chaves County, NM, Hydrologic Unit 13060010, located 3.0 mi southwest of the intersection of U.S. Highway 13 and Highway 82, on Scharbauer Ranch, and 11 mi above the Hope Dam, near Hope.
DRAINAGE AREA - 675 mi². (approximately)
REVISIONS HISTORY - Annual maximum discharge and daily mean values, August 29, 2013 to September 30, 2014. Prior to April 20, 2023 the datum of the gage was 4931 ft above NGVD29 (determined via topographic map).
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - February 2000 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder with satellite telemetry and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 4851.56 ft above NAVD88 as determined by a GNSS Level II rapid-static survey performed by the USGS on June 17, 2020.
REMARKS - Water year 2014; records good except for daily discharges from February 4 to March 26 and May 10 to July 15, which are fair, and estimated discharges, which are poor. Water year 2015; records fair except for estimated discharges, which are poor. Water years 2016-2017; records good except for estimated discharges, which are poor. Water years 2018-2021; records fair except for estimated discharges, which are poor. Small diversions for irrigation upstream from station.
