LOCATION - Lat 37°16'42", long 118°36'40" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Inyo County, CA, Hydrologic Unit 18090102, unsurveyed, in Inyo National Forest, on right bank, 10 ft downstream from diversion dam at convergence of Birch Creek and tributary to Birch Creek, and 13.9 mi southwest of Bishop.
DRAINAGE AREA - 5.02 mi².

SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1995 to current year (low-flow records only).
GAGE - Non-recording gage observed intermittently. Elevation of gage is 8,290 ft above NGVD of 1929, from topographic map.
COOPERATION - Records collected by Southern California Edison Company, under general supervision of the U.S. Geological Survey, in connection with Federal Energy Regulatory Commission project no. 1394.
REMARKS - No records computed above 4.4 ft³/s. Water from McGee Creek enters Birch Creek via McGee Creek Diversion (station 10268225) 0.5 mi upstream from Birch Creek Diversion Dam. Most of the water is diverted 15 ft upstream at Birch Creek Diversion Dam to Bishop Creek Powerplant No. 2 for power development downstream.
