LOCATION - Lat 32°56'35", long 117°07'15" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, San Diego County, CA, Hydrologic Unit 18070304, in Los Penasquitos Grant, on left bank, 1.0 mi downstream from Cypress Creek, and 5.5 mi southwest of Poway.
DRAINAGE AREA - 42.1 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1964 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 254.74 ft above NAVD of 1988.
REMARKS - Flow partly regulated by several conservation reservoirs upstream from station. Pumping from wells along stream for irrigation. Flow augmented by reclaimed water from Poway area.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 5,730 ft³/s, Dec. 22, 2010, gage height, 11.93 ft, from rating curve extended above 3,600 ft³/s; maximum gage height, 12.69 ft, Feb. 27, 2017; no flow at times in 1968, 1972, and 1977.
