LOCATION - Lat 34°09'41", long 117°00'56" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in SE 1/4 NE 1/4 sec.19, T.1 N., R.1 W., San Bernardino County, CA, Hydrologic Unit 18070203, on discharge pipe from Santa Ana River canal, 150 ft downstream from confluence with Bear Creek, 200 ft downstream from Southern California Edison Co.'s No. 1 diversion dam, and 6.3 mi southeast of Running Springs.
DRAINAGE AREA - Indeterminate.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - February 2006 to September 30, 2022.
GAGE - Acoustic-velocity meter on outlet pipe. Datum of gage is 3,440 ft above NGVD of 1929, from topographic map.
COOPERATION - Records were provided by Southern California Edison Co., under general supervision of the U.S. Geological Survey, in connection with Federal Energy Regulatory Commission project No. 1933.
REMARKS - Southern California Edison Co.'s Santa Ana River Canal (station 11049500) diverts water at diversion dam, 200 ft upstream. Discharges reported at this station represent flows released back to the Santa Ana River, below the diversion dam. Periods of no flow generally result from the diversion being turned out, upstream from this station. This station replaces station 11049300 (Santa Ana River below Southern California Edison Co.'s No. 1 Diversion Dam, near Running Springs), which was in operation from October 2003 through January 2006. EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum daily discharge, 16 ft³/s, March 29, 2017; no flow at times, due to no diversion.
