DRAINAGE AREA - Indeterminate.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 2005 to current year (instantaneous values only, based on discharge measurements).
GAGE - None. Elevation of station is 4,860 ft above NGVD of 1929, from topographic map.
COOPERATION - Records were provided by Southern California Edison Co., under general supervision of the U.S. Geological Survey, in connection with Federal Energy Regulatory Commission project No. 1934.
REMARKS - No regulation upstream from station. Southern California Edison Co.'s Mill Creek Power Canal No. 3 (station 11052500) diverts water from Mill Creek at diversion dam, approximately 100 ft upstream. Measured flow at this station represents leakage from the diversion dam and adjacent sandbox.  All furnished measurements are can be found in NWIS as instantaneous daily values.  Prior to Apr. 1, 2007, weekly discharge measurements were normally made at this station to verify that the Southern California Edison Co.'s diversion operations were not affecting the amount of leakage through the No. 3 power canal diversion dam. Since Apr. 1, 2007, monthly measurements are generally made at this station. Measurements are not made, and are not required, when the diversion is turned out, or the diversion dam is spilling. Measured flows at related station 11052800 (Mill Creek below Southern California Edison Co.'s No. 3 Power Canal, near Forest Falls), in operation during water years 2004-2006, represent total flows below the diversion dam, including bypass. Flows for station 11052800 are equivalent to those for station 11052790, for the period of October 2003 to December 2004. See schematic diagram of Santa Ana River Basin available from the California Water Science Center.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge observed, 2.33 ft³/s, November 17, 2020; minimum discharge observed, 0.23 ft³/s, Dec. 5, 2017 and Jan. 3, 2018.
