LOCATION - Lat 34°50'23", long 120°10'02" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Santa Barbara County, CA, Hydrologic Unit 18060008, in Sisquoc Grant, on left bank, 2.6 mi upstream from La Brea Creek, and 7 mi east of Sisquoc.
DRAINAGE AREA - 281 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1943 to September 1999, November 2007 to current year (since October 2020, high flow only). October 1929 to September 1933, at site 0.2 mi downstream; low-flow records not equivalent owing to diversion immediately upstream. Monthly discharge only for some periods, published in WSP 1315-B.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and concrete diversion dam. Datum of gage is 624.30 ft above sea level (levels by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers). See WSP 1735 for history of changes prior to Aug. 24, 1951.
REMARKS - No records computed below 200 ft³/s, since October 1, 2020. No regulation upstream from station. Minor diversion for irrigation at the gage. 
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Flood of Mar. 2, 1938, reached a discharge of 11,000 ft³/s, gage height, 8.1 ft, from high-water mark in gage well, at site in use 1929-33, from rating curve extended above 2,800 ft³/s.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 23,200 ft³/s, Dec. 6, 1966, gage height, 15.75 ft, from rating curve extended above 1,700 ft³/s on basis of slope-area measurements at gage heights 10.08 and 15.75 ft; no flow Nov. 11-18, 1967.
