LOCATION - Lat 37°30'13", long 121°49'25" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NE 1/4 NE 1/4 sec.13, T.5 S., R.1 E., Alameda County, CA, Hydrologic Unit 18050004, on right bank, 0.2 mi downstream from Calaveras Creek, 1.1 mi downstream from Calaveras Dam, and 7.3 mi southeast of Sunol.
DRAINAGE AREA - 139 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1995 to current year. October 1995 to September 2006 (low-flow records only).
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 429.83 ft above NAVD of 1988.
REMARKS - Flow regulated by Calaveras Reservoir, usable capacity, 96,800 acre-ft, 1.1 mi upstream from gage and by diversion dam on Alameda Creek, 2.9 mi upstream. Dead storage, 3,200 acre-ft. Flow is diverted out of basin from Calaveras Reservoir by city and county of San Francisco for domestic use. EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 5,220 ft³/s, Jan. 10, 2017, gage height, 12.18 ft; minimum daily discharge, 0.02 ft³/s, Oct. 8, 11-14, 2004, and Oct. 3, 2008.

REMARKS - Interruptions in record are due to malfunction of recording and/or sensing equipment. Water temperature record for 2014-2016 water years rated excellent. The practice of assigning qualitative accuracy ratings to water-quality data was discontinued in WY2017.
