LOCATION - Lat 37°18'47", long 119°01'27" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Fresno County, CA, Hydrologic Unit 18040006, at conduit, 0.3 mi from junction of Kaiser Pass Road, Florence Lake Road and Edison Lake Road, and 1.1 mi southwest of Mono Hot springs.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 2009 to current year.
GAGE - Differential pressure transmitter in conduit. Elevation of gage is 7,040 ft, from topographic map.
COOPERATION - Records were collected by Southern California Edison Co., under general supervision of the U.S. Geological Survey, in connection with Federal Energy Regulatory Commission project nos. 67 and 120.
REMARKS - Conduit diverts water from Bear River Conduit (station 11230520) and Mono Creek Conduit (station 11231550) to Ward Tunnel (station 11229500) and Huntington Lake (station 11236000) via Portal Powerplant (station 11235500) for further power development in Big Creek powerplants. EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum daily discharge, 540 ft³/s, estimated, July 21, 2011; minimum daily, 0.30 ft³/s, estimated, many days in October, November, and December of 2009 and 2010.
