LOCATION - Lat 36°59'39", long 120°30'01" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NE 1/4 NW 1/4 sec.12, T.11 S., R.13 E., Fresno County, CA, Hydrologic Unit 18040001, on left bank, 400 ft downstream of Sack Dam, 9.5 mi north of Firebaugh, and 6.8 mi west of Dos Palos.
DRAINAGE AREA - 4,669 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1940 to September 1954, October 2009 to September 2014 (discontinued). Chemical Data: October 1953 to October 1958.
GAGE - Datum of gage is 125 ft above NGVD of 1929, from topographical map. Prior to Nov. 27, 1946, at site 0.6 mi upstream at same datum.
COOPERATION - Records provided by California Department of Water Resources, under the general supervision of the U.S. Geological Survey.
REMARKS - Records for Water Year 2014 were not furnished for review. Natural flow of stream affected by water from Delta-Mendota Canal. Practically entire flow of river and tributaries diverted during irrigation season.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge (1944-54), 8,200 ft³/s, June 5, 1952, maximum gage height, 13.88 ft, May 27, 1952; no flow at times in 1945-46, 1948, 1950, 1954.
