LOCATION - Lat 38°16'52", long 119°43'57" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in NW 1/4 SW 1/4 sec.13, T.5 N., R.20 E., Tuolumne County, CA, Hydrologic Unit 18040010, in Stanislaus National Forest, east side of dam on Relief Reservoir, 2.2 mi south of Kennedy Meadows, and 3.6 mi southeast of Baker Station.
DRAINAGE AREA - 24.4 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - April 1912 to September 1913, October 1916 to March 1917, October 1917 to September 1918, December 2012 to current year. Water years 1912-18 published as Relief Creek near Baker Station. Prior to 1913 published as Relief Creek blw Relief Reservoir near Baker Station.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Elevation of gage is 7,200 ft above NGVD of 1929, from topographic map.
COOPERATION - Records were collected by Pacific Gas and Electric Company, under general supervision of the U.S. Geological Survey, in connection with Federal Energy Regulatory Commission project no. 2130.
REMARKS - No records computed above 10 ft³/s. There was no mean daily flow below 10 ft³/s for the entire 2016, 2017, 2019, and 2023 water years. Water is used for power development downstream.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - (1912-1918) Maximum daily discharge recorded, 795 ft³/s, June 23,1914; no flow part of 1913 and 1918.
