LOCATION - Lat 38°13'34", long 121°01'25" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in NE 1/4 SE 1/4 sec.06, T.4 N., R.9 E., San Joaquin County, CA, Hydrologic Unit 18040012, at Comanche Dam on the Mokelumne River, 4.3 mi northwest of Clements.
DRAINAGE AREA - 621 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WDR CA-85-3: 1984.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - December 1963 to September 1993, October 2008 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Elevation of gage is 115.50 ft above NGVD of 1929 (provided by East Bay Municipal Utility District).
COOPERATION - Records provided by East Bay Municipal Utility District, under general supervision of the U.S. Geological Survey, in connection with Federal Energy Regulatory Commission project no. 2916.
REMARKS - Reservoir is formed by earth-fill dam. Storage began Dec. 18, 1963. Contents based on capacity table 1.0, dated 1989. Usable capacity, 416,800 acre-ft, between elevations 102.00 ft, north and south conduit intakes, and 235.50 ft, spillway crest. Dead storage, 318 acre-ft. Camanche Reservoir provides holdover storage to meet downstream water requirements and flood control on the Mokelumne River. Prior to July 1, 1984, records, including extremes, represent total contents at 2400 hours. Records from July 1, 1984, through July 24, 1989, including extremes, represent total contents at 0800 hours. Records from July 25, 1989, to Sept. 30, 1993, including extremes, represent total contents at 2400 hours. Since Oct. 1, 2008, records, excluding extremes, represent total contents at 2400 hours. EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Prior to Oct. 1, 2008, maximum contents at 0800 hours, 439,100 acre-ft, Feb. 22, 1986, elevation, 236.57 ft. Since Oct. 1, 2008, maximum contents, 393,400 acre-ft, July 1, 2010, elevation, 232.30 ft. Minimum since reservoir first filled, 8,530 acre-ft, Oct. 5, 1988, elevation, 124.47 ft.
