LOCATION - Lat 38°49'44", long 120°32'09" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NW 1/4 NW 1/4 sec.04, T.11 N., R.13 E., El Dorado County, CA, Hydrologic Unit 18020129, Eldorado National Forest, in outlet tower to Camino Powerplant, 100 ft upstream from right abutment of Camino Diversion Dam, 0.3 mi upstream from Round Tent Canyon, and 5.3 mi northwest of Pollock Pines.
DRAINAGE AREA - 160 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1991 to current year. Unpublished records for water years 1980-91 available in files of the U.S. Geological Survey.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is NGVD of 1929 (levels by Sacramento Municipal Utility District). Prior to Apr. 8, 1987, nonrecording gage at same site and datum.
COOPERATION - Records were collected by Sacramento Municipal Utility District, under general supervision of the U.S. Geological Survey, in connection with Federal Energy Regulatory Commission project no. 2101.
REMARKS - Reservoir is formed by concrete-arch dam completed in 1961. Storage began in 1961. Contents based on capacity table dated October 1991. Capacity, 543 acre-ft at 2,915 ft, maximum water surface level. Most of the water is diverted at this reservoir to Camino Powerplant (station 11441895). Records, including extremes, represent total contents at 2400 hours. See schematic diagram of South Fork American River Basin available from the California Water Science Center.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum contents, 819 acre-ft, Jan. 21, 1993, elevation, 2,915.29 ft; no storage on many days in 1999.
