LOCATION - Lat 38°30'55", long 122°04'51" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NE 1/4 NE 1/4 sec.28, T.8 N., R.2 W., Yolo County, CA, Hydrologic Unit 18020162, on left bank, 1 mi downstream from Cold Canyon, 1.3 mi downstream from Monticello Dam, and 6 mi west of Winters.
DRAINAGE AREA - 574 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WSP 901: 1937-38 (instantaneous maximum discharge). WSP 1285: 1932 (instantaneous maximum discharge), 1935-36 (instantaneous maximum discharge), 1940 (instantaneous maximum discharge), 1942-43 (instantaneous maximum discharge), 1951, 1952 (instantaneous maximum discharge). GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Elevation of gage is 160.75 ft above NGVD of 1929 (river-profile survey). June 28, 1930, to Feb. 29, 1940, at datum about 1 ft higher.
REMARKS - Flow completely regulated by Lake Berryessa (station 11453900) beginning January 1957. See schematic diagrams of lower Sacramento River Basin and Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta available from the California Water Science Center.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum stage known since at least 1905, that of Feb. 27, 1940, on basis of records for station at Winters.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 81,000 ft³/s, Feb. 27, 1940, gage height, 30.5 ft, present datum, from rating curve extended above 30,000 ft³/s; no flow Sept. 6-15, 1950, July 26 to Sept. 1, Sept. 6-9, 1955. Since completion of Monticello Dam in 1957: Maximum discharge, 18,700 ft³/s, Mar. 2, 1983, gage height, 19.55 ft; minimum daily, 6.1 ft³/s, Dec. 19, 1967.
