LOCATION - Lat 38°19'24", long 122°29'36" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Sonoma County, CA, Hydrologic Unit 18050002, in Agua Caliente Grant, on right bank, 5 ft upstream from Aqua Caliente Road bridge, and 0.4 mi west of Agua Caliente.

DRAINAGE AREA - 58.4 mi².

REVISIONS HISTORY - WDR CA-06-2: 2002-2005 (peaks above base).

SURFACE-WATER RECORDS

PERIOD OF RECORD - February 1955 to September 1981, October 2001 to current year. Prior to October 1966, published as "at Boyes Hot Springs."

GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 94.28 ft above NGVD of 1929 and 96.59 ft above NAVD of 1988. Prior to July 24, 1967, at site 0.8 mi downstream at different datum. July 24, 1967, to Oct. 9, 1968, at site 130 ft upstream at datum 10.00 ft higher.

REMARKS - No regulation; some diversion above station for irrigation of about 2,000 acres.

EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 20,300 ft³/s, Dec. 31, 2005, gage height, 32.51 ft, from rating curve extended above 1,000 ft³/s, on basis of slope-area measurement of maximum flow; no flow at times.

WATER-QUALITY RECORDS

INSTRUMENTATION - Water Quality Monitor in a YSI Exo3 which was swapped to a YSI Exo2 after the temperature probe failed. Sensor is housed in a 4" PVC perforated sonde tube in the primary gaging pool at the site. Data is collected on a 15 minute interval.

Temperature Maximum 22.7°c on May 29, 2019 Temperature Minimum 7.3°c February 2, 2018.

Turbidity Maximum 494 FNU on March 22, 2018. Turbidity Minimum 0.2 FNU on January 17, 2018.
