LOCATION - Lat 39°40'18", long 123°29'50" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NE 1/4 SW 1/4 sec.14, T.21 N., R.15 W., Mendocino County, CA, Hydrologic Unit 18010106, on right bank, downstream side of Creekside Road Bridge, 1.0 mi upstream of Tenmile Creek, and 1.4 mi southwest of Laytonville.

DRAINAGE AREA - 5.09 mi².

REVISIONS HISTORY - On April 22, 2015, discharge records were revised for the period of October 2-15, 2013.

SURFACE-WATER RECORDS

PERIOD OF RECORD - October 2007 to November 1, 2017 (discontinued).

GAGE - Water stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Elevation of gage is 1,645 ft above NGVD of 1929, from topographic map.

REMARKS - No regulation or diversion upstream of gage. See schematic diagram of Eel River Basin available from the California Water Science Center.

EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 2,080 ft³/s, Dec. 2, 2012, gage height, 11.38 ft; no flow several days each year.

PERIOD OF DAILY RECORD - October 2007 to October 20, 2018. WATER TEMPERATURE: October 2007 to October 20, 2018 (discontinued).

INSTRUMENTATION - Water-quality monitor, water-temperature, since Oct. 1, 2007.

REMARKS - Statistical uncertainty and quantitative accuracy are not computed for water-quality time-series records. Remarks on record accuracy are qualitative and are based on an assessment of general site conditions, variance, and the absolute sum of applied fouling and drift corrections. WY2016 Water-Temperature record was generally FAIR with the end of the period rated as EXCELLENT. WY2015 Water-Temperature record is rated excellent except 2/19 to 2/21, rated good. WY2014 Water-Temperature record rated excellent. Interruptions in record are due to malfunction of recorder, sensor, and/or no flow.
