LOCATION - Lat 44°45'10", long 122°07'40" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in SE 1/4 NE 1/4 sec.36, T.9 S., R.5 E., Marion County, OR, Hydrologic Unit 17090005, Willamette National Forest, on left bank, 600 ft upstream from Canyon Creek, 1.5 mi northeast of Detroit and at mile 2.0.
DRAINAGE AREA - 108 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - June 1932 to September 1987, October 1998 to current year. Monthly discharge only June 1932, published in WSP 1318. October 1952 to September 1984 published as "above Canyon Creek, near Detroit."
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 1,573.95 ft above NGVD of 1929. Prior to Oct. 1, 1952, at site 0.2 mi downstream at datum 13.46 ft lower.
REMARKS - No regulation or diversion upstream from station.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 16,900 ft³/s Dec. 22, 1964, gage height, 14.55 ft; minimum discharge, 81 ft³/s Oct. 10, 2015.
CLIMATOLOGICAL RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - PRECIPITATION: March 2021 to current year.
INSTRUMENTATION - Unshielded, standard 7.874-in diameter, tipping bucket precipitation gage, mounted to top of gage house 15 ft above ground surface.
