LOCATION - Lat 61°41'55", long 150°39'02" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Matanuska-Susitna Borough, AK, Hydrologic Unit 19020504, (Tyonek C-2 quad), on right bank, 14 mi upstream from gage on Susitna R. at Susitna Station and 12 mi upstream from confluence with Susitna R.
DRAINAGE AREA - 6,180 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1980 to June 1986, May 2013 to September 2014 (discontinued).
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Elevation of gage is 80 ft. above sea level, from topographic map.
REMARKS - Records fair except for estimated daily discharges, which are poor. GOES satellite telemetry at station.

INSTRUMENTATION - Digital water temperature recorder May 1981 to October 1984. Electronic water temperature recorder May 1985 to June 1986, set for one-hour recording intervals. Multi probe water quality monitor connected to electronic recorder May 2013 to September 2014, set for 15-minute recording intervals.
REMARKS - WATER TEMPERATURE: October 1, 2013 - September 30, 2014: Records rated good. Records represent water temperature at sensor within 0.2°C. Missing data during period due to probe being out of water. Temperature at the monitor was compared with the cross section stream average on May 14 and 28, July 2, August 6, September 4 and 15, 2014. The maximum variation within the cross section was 0.5°C occurring May 28. The maximum variation between mean stream temperature and temperature at the monitor was 0.6°C occurring May 14. TURBIDITY: October 1, 2013 - September 30, 2014: Records rated fair. Records represent turbidity at the sensor. Turbidity sensor is seasonal. Missing data during season due to stream level falling below the sensor. Turbidity at the sensor was compared with the cross section stream average on May 14 and 28, July 2, August 6, September 4 and 15, 2014. The maximum variation within the cross section was 170 FNU (920-750 FNU) occurring September 15, 2014. The maximum variation between median stream turbidity and turbidity at the sensor was 135 FNU (865 vs. 1000 FNU) occurring September 15, 2014.
