LOCATION - Lat 35°04'06", long 89°44'44" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Shelby County, TN, Hydrologic Unit 08010210, at Germantown, TN, about 1,500 ft east of Johnson Road, and 2,600 ft north of U.S. Highway 72. Owner: The City of Germantown, TN.
GROUNDWATER RECORDS
WELL CHARACTERISTICS - Depth 278 ft. Upper casing diameter 6 in; top of first opening 268 ft, bottom of last opening 278 ft. Drilled artesian observation well.
DATUM - Land-surface datum is 348 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929. Measuring point: Top of Inside shelter, 1.80 ft above land-surface datum, Feb. 18, 1987 to present. Measuring point: Inside top of recorder shelter base plate.
PERIOD OF RECORD - July 1990 to current year.
GAGE - Data Collection Platform set on 60 minute recording interval and periodic tape downs performed by USGS personnel.
REMARKS - Records good. Daily high, low, and mean water-levels stored. Water level affected by well field pumping for municipal and industrial water supply in the Germantown, TN area.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Highest water level recorded, 90.24 ft below land-surface datum, Feb. 13, 1991; lowest recorded, 116.26 ft below land-surface datum, Sept. 3, 2007.
