LOCATION - Lat 41°46'30.8", long 77°23'49.4" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Tioga County, PA, Hydrologic Unit 02050205, at U.S. Geological Survey Northern Appalachian Research Laboratory near Asaph, PA.
GROUNDWATER RECORDS
WELL CHARACTERISTICS - Depth 60 ft. Upper casing diameter 2 in; top of first opening 20 ft, bottom of last opening 60 ft. Drilled observation well, diameter 2 in, depth 60 ft, cased to 20 ft, screened 20-60 ft.
DATUM - Land-surface datum is 1,154.34 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929. Measuring point: TOP OF 2-IN PVC CASING, 1.80 ft above land-surface datum, Jul. 16, 2012 to present.
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 2012 to August 24,2017.
GAGE - 30-PSI In-Situ Level Troll pressure transducer with built in logger, recording at 15-minute interval.
COOPERATION - Funding for the operation of this station is provided by the U.S. Geological Survey. This station managed by the Williamsport office.
REMARKS - In addition to the daily mean water level shown below, daily minimum and maximum water levels are also available from the U.S. Geological Survey Pennsylvania Water Science Center. Water level affected by pumping from 4 supply wells at the Northern Appalachian Research Laboratory. Well depth reported as 60 ft, but measured depth was 49 ft on 7/16/2012.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - The extremes are based on the instantaneous depth below land-surface datum. Highest water level, 3.52 ft below land-surface datum January 12, 2017; lowest, 21.50 ft below land-surface datum, Sept 29, 2016.
