LOCATION - Lat 42°03'54", long 88°17'05" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in SW 1/4 NE 1/4 NE 1/4 sec.2, T.41 N., R.8 E., Kane County, IL, Hydrologic Unit 07120006, within water-treatment facility on south side of Frontage road, south side of U.S. Highway 90, approximately 0.5 mi east of State Highway 31 at Elgin.
CLIMATOLOGICAL RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD -
PRECIPITATION: March 1989 to September 1995, July 1997 to April 2004, and October 2008 to current.
INSTRUMENTATION - Unheated tipping-bucket rain gage and satellite telemeter.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum daily total, 4.22 in. (estimated), August 22, 2002.
