NOTICE (10/28/2013) -- The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), continues to work with partners to secure funding for threatened streamgages. As we reported in the September 5th bulletin, 21 lake and streamgages in New York have funding support through September 30, 2014. The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has also recently indicated they will, at least temporarily, support five additional sites through March 31, 2014 while they complete a statewide evaluation of streamflow data needs.
There remain 10 streamgages that are currently unfunded and will be shut down Friday November 1, 2013 and an additional 2 streamgages that will be shut down at the end of the 2013 calendar year.
Users who are willing to contribute funding to continue operation of this streamgage should contact Rob Breault or Ward Freeman of the USGS New York Water Science Center at 518-285-5658 or dc_ny@usgs.gov.

LOCATION.--Lat 42°17'29", long 75°28'35" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Chenango County, NY, Hydrologic Unit 02050101, on right bank at the downstream side of bridge on State Highway 206 over the Susquehanna River at Bainbridge.
DRAINAGE AREA.--1,610 mi2.
PERIOD OF RECORD.--Annual maximum only--1988-2009, October 2009 to current year.
GAGE.--Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 956.55 ft above NGVD of 1929.
REMARKS.--Records good except those for estimated daily discharges, which are fair. Minor regulation by upstream lakes and reserviors. Telephone and satellite gage-height telemeters at station.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD.--Maximum discharge, 58,700 ft3/s, June 29, 2006, gage height, 27.05 ft; minimum discharge, 237 ft3/s, Aug. 27, 2012, gage height, 0.82 ft.
