The 15-minute precipitation data for this station are temporary and will only be displayed for 120 days. Although the instrumentation is calibrated at least once/year, the temporary classification means that documented routine inspections and other quality assurance measures are not performed that would make the data acceptable for archival, retrieval, or future use in general scientific or interpretive studies.

 

LOCATION.--Lat 42°54'00", long 76°10'09" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Onondaga County, NY, Hydrologic Unit 04140201, on left bank 10 ft upstream from bridge on State Highway 20, 0.7 mi west of Tully Farms Road, 1.6 mi northwest of Cardiff, and 2.2 mi upstream from Onondaga Reservoir.
DRAINAGE AREA.--33.9 mi2.
PERIOD OF RECORD.--October 2001 to current year.
GAGE.--Acoustic velocity meter, water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Elevation of gage is 500 ft above NGVD of 1929, from topographic map. From Apr. 9, 2004 to May 13, 2005, at site 1.1 mi upstream at unknown datum.
REMARKS.-- Water years 2002 to current year: Records fair except those for estimated daily discharges, which are poor.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD.--Maximum daily discharge, about 1,070 ft3/s, Apr. 3, 2005, gage height, 6.73 ft; maximum gage height, 8.85 ft, Aug. 30, 2004, site and datum then in use; minimum daily discharge, 3.8 ft3/s, Sept. 14, 2002. Maximum and minimum instantaneous discharges not determined.
INSTRUMENTATION (CLIM).--Tipping bucket raingage with 8.214 inch diameter receiving funnel, mounted on a pedestal. Funnel is heated to facilitate melting of snow. Each tip of the raingage bucket is equivalent to .01 inches of precipitation. Tips of the raingage bucket are recorded and accumulated at hourly intervals by an electronic data logger.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD (CLIM).--Maximum recorded daily precipitation, 2.36 inches, August 9, 2009.
