NOTICE (10/28/2013) -- The U.S.
Geological Survey (USGS), continues to work with partners to secure
funding for threatened streamgages. As we reported in the September 5th
bulletin, 21 lake and streamgages in New York have funding support
through September 30, 2014. The New York State Department of
Environmental Conservation has also recently indicated they will, at
least temporarily, support five additional sites through March 31, 2014
while they complete a statewide evaluation of streamflow data
There remain 10 streamgages that are currently unfunded and will be
shut down Friday November 1, 2013 and an additional 2 streamgages that
will be shut down at the end of the 2013 calendar year.
Users who are willing to contribute funding to continue operation of
this streamgage should contact Rob Breault or Ward Freeman of the USGS
New York Water Science Center at 518-285-5658 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
