LOCATION.--Lat 38°35'50", long 80°29'26", NAD 27, Webster County,
Hydrologic Unit 05050007, on right bank 200 ft upstream from
bridge on County Highway 7, 6.5 mi upstream from town of
Centralia, 8.9 mi southwest of Salisburg Station, 8.9 mi
northwest of Webster Springs, and at mile 125.2.
DRAINAGE AREA.--266 mi2.
PERIOD OF RECORD.--October 1929 to September 1959 (estimated annual
maximum discharge); October 1959 to September 1983, October 1985
to September 2001 (measurements, daily mean discharges, and
annual maximums); October 2001 to September 2004 (measurements,
daily mean discharges, annual maximums, and discharges at one
hour or less intervals); October 2004 to current year
(measurements, daily mean discharges, annual maximums, and gage
heights and discharges at one hour or less intervals).
GAGE.--Water-stage recorder with satellite telemeter. Elevation of gage
is approximately 1,020.1 ft above NGVD 29, from barometric
leveling.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD.--Flood in 1861, probably in
September, reached a stage of 26.34 ft and flood of July 26,
1896, reached a stage of 25.87 ft, present datum, at site
0.2 mi upstream, from levels to floodmarks pointed out by a
local resident.
