| LOCATION.--Lat 43°03'48", long 89°23'49", in SW 1/4 sec.23, T.7 N., R.9 E., Dane County, Hydrologic Unit 07090001, in Brittingham Park, in Madison. DRAINAGE AREA.--279 square miles, 36.6 is non-contributing. Area of Lake Monona, 5.3 square miles. PERIOD OF RECORD.--September 1915 to current year (fragmentary) in reports of the Geological Survey. For 1856 to March 1917 in reports of Wisconsin Railroad Commission, volume 19. REVISED RECORDS.--WSP 1338: Lake area. WDR WI-73-1: Drainage area. GAGE.--Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 840.00 ft above sea level (NGVD 1929), or 5.60 ft below City of Madison datum. Prior to Oct. 1, 1979, datum 3.61 ft higher; prior to Nov. 15, 1971, nonrecording gage at same site and datum. REMARKS.--Lake level regulated by concrete dam with
four 12-foot stop-log sections and 12-foot lock at outlet of Lake
Waubesa. Gage-height telemeter at station.
