LOCATION.--Lat 42° 46'16", long 115° 43'13" (NAD83), in NE1/4 NE1/4 SE1/4
sec. 34, T.7 S., R.6 E., Owyhee County, Hydrologic Unit 17050102, Hot Springs
quad., on right bank, 1 mi downstream from Hot Creek, 1.5 mi south of Hot Spring,
9 mi southeast of Bruneau, 16 mi downstream from East Fork, and at mile 22.0.
DRAINAGE AREA.--2,630 mi2, approximately. Mean elevation, 5,600 ft
PERIOD OF RECORD.--July 1909 to March 1915, October 1943 to current year.
REVISED RECORDS.--WSP 1063: 1913. WSP 1517: 1910(M). WSP 1567: Drainage area.
GAGE.--Datum of gage is 2,598.5 ft above NGVD of 1929. Prior to Mar. 12, 1910,
nonrecording gage at site 0.2 mi upstream at different datum. Mar. 12, 1910
to Mar. 15, 1915, nonrecording gage at present site and datum.
REMARKS.--Several small reservoirs on tributaries above station. Diversions
above station for irrigation of about 12,900 acres (1966 determination).
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD.--Maximum discharge, 6,860 ft3/s May 15, 1984,
gage height, 13.03 ft; minimum, 6.9 ft3/s Oct. 31, Nov. 2, 2002, Nov. 1, 2003,
result of freezeup.
