STATION.-- 14140000 BULL RUN RIVER NEAR BULL RUN, OR
LOCATION.--Lat 45° 26'15", long 122° 10'40", in NE 1/4 SW 1/4 sec.34, T.1 S., R.5 E., Clackamas
County, Hydrologic Unit 17080001, in Mount Hood National Forest, on left bank 1.8 mi
downstream from Bull Run Reservoir Number Two, 2.7 mi northeast of Bull Run, and at
mile 4.7.[location map]
DRAINAGE AREA.--107 mi2.
PERIOD OF RECORD.--September 1907 to current year. Records for January 1895 to August 1907,
published in WSP 370, have been found to be unreliable and should not be used.
GAGE.--Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 567.90 ft above NGVD of 1929 (levels by Portland
Water Bureau). Prior to July 27, 1909, nonrecording gage at site 1.5 mi upstream at
different datum. July 27, 1909, to Sept. 30, 1959, water-stage recorder at site 2.5 mi
upstream at different datums.
REMARKS.-- Data shown is for the Bull Run River only. Additional data are published under
station number 14140001 in the USGS Annual Data Report "Water Resources Data for Oregon".
These data include the amount of water diverted to the City of Portland and also by
Portland General Electric for power generation.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD.--River only, maximum discharge, 24,800 ft3/s Dec. 22, 1964,
gage height, 17.21 ft, from rating curve extended above 8,800 ft3/s on basis of
computation of peak flow over dam; minimum discharge, 1.1 ft3/s Oct. 4, 1974.
