Data are tidally affected -- Astronomical tides cause significant cycles of approximately 24.84 hours at this site. Because a different portion of the 24.84-hour tidal cycle is averaged in successive daily (24-hour) computations, a systematic secondary oscillation, unrelated to basin hydrology and having a period of about two weeks may be apparent in daily data.


LOCATION.--Lat 28°53'36.1", long 82°36'20.0" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in 
NE 1/4 SW 1/4 SE 1/4 sec.20, T.18 S., R.1 7., Citrus County, FL, Hydrologic Unit 03100207, 
(Crystal River quadrangle), on green channel marker #29 at mouth of Kings Bay.

 
DRAINAGE AREA.--46.0 mi2.

 
PERIOD OF RECORD.--December 2006 to September 2010 (tidal high-high and low-low only);
October 2010 to current year (maximum and minimum only).

 
GAGE.--Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is at North American Vertical Datum of 1988.


REVISED RECORDS--WDR-US-2010:Water level data previously published an arbitrary datum for period
of Dec. 1, 2006 through Sep. 30, 2009. Data revised at North American Vertical Datum of 1988 in 2010 water year
for period of record.
