Notice to Users: Beginning April 11, 2013 the gage height provided by the USGS on this webpage will display 2.00 ft. higher than those shown by the National Weather Service. These data displayed by the USGS and NWS are from the same instrumentation but due the need for a new gage location, a datum change was also required. Significant changes to the stream channel from a dam removal in November of 2012 required the removal of the existing streamgage On April 11, 2013, the gage was moved to a new location about 380 feet downstream from its previous location. Collecting gage-height data at the new location required the station datum to be changed to 730.65 feet. The station datum at the previous location was 732.65 feet. Please keep in mind that the gage height plus the station datum equals the elevation (NGVD29) of the water surface at the gaging station location. This gage has had a history of location changes and datum changes. From Oct. 1929 to July 23, 1953 the gage was located about 2.0 miles upstream of the current location at a datum of 738.00 ft. From July 24, 1953 to Jan. 14, 2002 the gage was located about 1.85 miles upstream of the current location at a datum of 738.00 ft.
