LOCATION.--Lat 43° 33'26", long 110° 45'46" (NAD83), in SW1/4 NW1/4 SW1/4 sec.34.,
T.42 N., R.116 W., Teton County, Wyoming, Hydrologic Unit 17040102, Teton Village quad.,
on left bank 20 ft upstream from county road bridge, 0.5 mi southwest of Jackson Hole
Country Club, and 5.5 mi north of Jackson, Wyoming.
DRAINAGE AREA.--683 mi2.
PERIOD OF RECORD.--July to September 1917, July to September 1918 (monthly discharge
only, published in WSP 1317), October 1987 to current year (no winter records).
GAGE.--Water-stage recorder. Elevation of gage is 6,260 ft above NGVD of 1929,
from topographic map.
REMARKS.--Diversions of about 300 ft3/s for irrigation above station. No regulation.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD.--Maximum daily discharge, 6,170 ft3/s June 6, 1997;
maximum gage height, 22.77 ft, June 10, 1996; no flow on many days.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD.--Flood of May 18, 1927, when landslide about
12 mi upstream washed out, released about 60,000 acre-ft of impounded water
(discharge not determined).
