LOCATION.--Lat 38°17'43", long 80°31'36", NAD 27, Nicholas County,
Hydrologic Unit 05050005, Monongahela National Forest, on left
bank 30 ft downstream from U.S. Forest Service highway bridge,
0.6 mi upstream from Barrenshe Run, 5.0 mi north of Richwood,
and at mile 5.6.
DRAINAGE AREA.--80.4 mi2.
PERIOD OF RECORD.--October 1944 to December 1951, June 1964 to September
1982, March 1984 to September 2001 (measurements, daily mean
discharges, and annual maximums); October 2001 to September 2004
(measurements, daily mean discharges, annual maximums, and
discharges at one hour or less intervals); October 2004 to
current year (measurements, daily mean discharges, annual
maximums, and gage heights and discharges at one hour or less
intervals).

GAGE.--Water-stage recorder with satellite telemeter. Elevation of gage
is approximately 2,100 ft above NGVD 29, from topographic map.
REMARKS.--Gage-height data for water years 1972-79 provided by
U.S. Forest Service.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD.--Flood of July 19, 1954, reached a
stage of 12.22 ft, discharge, 12,200 ft3/s, from floodmarks,
present site and datum.
