Due to a lapse in appropriations, the majority of USGS websites may not be up to date and may not reflect current conditions. Websites displaying real-time data, such as Earthquake and Water and information needed for public health and safety will be updated with limited support. Additionally, USGS will not be able to respond to inquiries until appropriations are enacted. For more information, please see www.doi.gov/shutdown.

This site is a Flood Warning Station located in what we are calling , which is a small drainage just West of of the White Mountain Apache Nation. It was installed 07/15/2016. It measures storm run-off stage and precipitation in one of the drainages coming out of the burned area of the Cedar Fire (June, 2016). The station consists of a rain gauge, two water level sensors, and a Data Collection Platform (DCP). Data collected from these sensors are stored and transmitted hourly by the DCP via satellite telemetry. The data are then displayed here on this web page. Data are transmitted and updated on this page every 5 minutes when severe rainfall or water flow conditions exist.
