LOCATION - Lat 34°17'06", long 117°22'16" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NW 1/4 SE 1/4 sec.02, T.2 N., R.5 W., San Bernardino County, CA, Hydrologic Unit 18090208, in San Bernardino National Forest, on left bank, 1.5 mi upstream from Silverwood Lake, and 10.6 mi southwest of Hesperia.
DRAINAGE AREA - 3.22 mi².

PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1995 to September 2002, October 2003 to September 2004, October 2005 to current year. Unpublished records for water years 1961-95 available in files of the California Department of Water Resources.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and concrete control. Elevation of gage is 3,550 ft above NGVD of 1929, from topographic map.
COOPERATION - Records were collected by California Department of Water Resources, under general supervision of the U.S. Geological Survey, in connection with Federal Energy Regulatory Commission project no. 2426.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 1,090 ft³/s, Dec. 22, 2010, estimated, no gage height associated with peak as gage was destroyed, maximum gage height, 3.88 ft, Feb. 23, 1998; no flow for many days in most years.
The peak discharge for the flood of Dec. 25, 2003, may have exceeded the maximum recorded discharge, but is unknown and may have been the result of a debris or hyperconcentrated flow event, due to an intense rain storm over a drainage area that was burned by wildfire less than two months prior.
