LOCATION - Lat 37°28'21", long 108°29'49" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in SW 1/4 SW 1/4 sec.10, T.37 N., R.15 W., Montezuma County, CO, Hydrologic Unit 14030002, on left bank 0.30 mi. upstream from bridge on State Highway 184 in Dolores, and 0.8 mi. upstream from Lost Canyon Creek.
DRAINAGE AREA - 504 mi².

SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - June 1895 to October 1903, August 1910 to November 1912, October 1921 to current year. Monthly discharge only for some periods, published in WSP 1313.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder with satellite telemetry and crest-stage gage. Elevation of gage is 6,940 ft above NGVD of 1929, from topographic map. See WSP 1713 or 1733 for history of changes prior to Oct. 7, 1952. Oct. 7, 1952 to Nov. 16, 1983, at site 0.4 mi downstream at different datum.

Water year 2015; records good except for the period May 1 to Aug. 20, and estimated daily discharges, which are poor. Water year 2016; records good except for estimated daily discharges, which are poor.
