LOCATION - Lat 37°23'19", long 104°07'33" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in SW 1/4 NE 1/4 sec.33, T.30 S., R.60 W., Las Animas County, CO, Hydrologic Unit 11020010, on Pinon Canyon Maneuver Site approximately 50 ft west of Military Supply Road, 0.9 mi southwest of Brown Sheep Camp, 6.4 mi southeast of Tyrone, and 23 mi northeast of Trinidad.
CLIMATOLOGICAL RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Precipitation: June 1999 to November 2013, April 2014 to November 2020 (discontinued). Air Temperature: October 2012 to November 2020 (discontinued).
INSTRUMENTATION - Tipping-bucket rain gage and air temperature sensor with satellite telemetry. Elevation of gage is 5,390 ft above NGVD of 1929, from topographic map.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD -

Maximum daily precipitation, 3.63 inches, May 19, 2015.

Maximum instantaneous air temperature, 38.6 deg C, June 10, 2013. Minimum instantaneous air temperature, -33.2 deg C, Feb. 3, 2011.
